Loobie Lobster: Good Deal of Lobsters

Lobsters are commonly known as one of the priciest seafood items. The main reason is said to be a moderately difficult catching process and furthermore, it’s not easy to prepare them as a dish. That’s why most people tend to eat lobsters during ‘special’ occasions, or when they’re in the mood to spend some bucks for quality experience.
But then an idea came from the celebrity couple Afit & Lucy Wiryono, who are also the mastermind behind Holycow! Steakhouse by Chef Afit.  Previously they came up with a motto “Wagyu for Everyone”, and now they created a seafood joint named Loobie Lobster with a similar basic concept, “Lobster for Everyone”. Of course, the main mission is to serve quality lobsters with affordable price so everyone could enjoy them at any given time.

Well thank god despite of the friendlier pricing, Loobie Lobster’s menu quality isn’t a letdown at all. At that time I got a chance to try out their signature menu, Whole Lobster Platter, which consists of a marinated giant lobster, a pile of calamari, and rice. The menu itself is pretty unique because it is paired with two styles of sauce, The Western style Spicy Garlic and Sambal Matah from Bali. You can see that their choice of lobsters is good enough, with a fresh and thick pinkish meat inside that gives a faint hint of sweetness in it. Apparently, Loobie Lobster exported them straight from Kalimantan, which said to be one of the islands that provide lots of decent quality lobsters.

As an alternative, they also provide shrimps that you can find in Whole Shrimp Platter. Marinated with the same homemade sauce with the lobsters, I gotta say that Loobie’s shrimps are worth to try as well! The meat is solid and packed behind the shells, leaving a tasty and satisfying feels in mouth. Oh, there’s also Mix Platter for a fair share between lobster and shrimp if you’re interested to try both in one plate.

The place itself isn’t the most spacious so you might want to get prepared to have a little less privacy by sitting close to other guests. All in all for a whole experience of great lobsters with good deal of price, why not?
